Mozambique: summary report on Community Based Natural Resource Management conference

On 28-30 April 2011 the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Directorate for Land and Forests held a three-day conference in Maputo to address the issue of Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) as a way to improve the lives of rural populations and promote sustainable community development.

The conference was attended by 300 participants, including, amongst others: Government ministers, administrators and representatives from eight Districts, technicians from MINAG, MICOA, MITUR, academics, students, NGOs and the private sector, the media.
