Sectoral studies and analysis as the basis for the revision and updating of forest policies in Guatemala
An analysis was recently concluded on the fiscal and economic impact of investments made by the
State of Guatemala in the forest sector, through the Forestry Incentives Program, PINFOR. This
analysis was done for the plantations from the project database in this program (available in the
National Institute of Forests (INAB)) and performance data from forest plot measuring. The analysis
covers standing trees, determining what the investments from 1997 to 2008 produced in the
economy and in fiscal terms. This document details the main conclusions.
